My assignment this afternoon was a press conference by this small business group to announce it was endorsing the Republican Gubernatorial candidate for Indiana, right? So out of 30 or so people, who would be there, sitting in her freaking Republican red wool blazer in August?

That's right. The BFKAS. Holy. Shit.

Of course, I stayed on whatever side of the room she wasn't -- as did she, because, you know, she has these big political aspirations (in [redacted], a city that would just as soon lynch Republicans as it would vote for them, IF people vote at all -- oh. wait. I wasn't supposed to mention that, was I?), and God forbid she have meltdown that would allow her peers to find out that she has a bastard daughter she gave up for adoption 34 years ago. And that was fine. But the cool thing? The guy hosting the thing said at the end of his speech -- and I quote -- "On a special note, I'd like to point out that we have (Broad) from the Post-Tribune in the audience. You can read her byline almost everyday, and we appreciate her being out here, blah blah blah ..." Now, part of me wanted to slide under the table, because I'm one of those who doesn't like undue attention brought to herself. (No, seriously. Now shut-up and stop looking at me!). But the other part? Was like, "How you like me NOW, BFKAS!?!?!? Heh. Your oldest kid getting accolades in front of your peers, and you can't even acknowledge it because you suck. How's THAT feel!?!"
