A simple change of inflection in Keyes' statement could interpret it as "At the moment, my parents don't approve of what I'm doing." implying that she's hopeful they'll come around. Of course, that doesn't cover for the "what I'm doing" part, as if being gay was an activity and not a state of being.

Regardless, I'm rather glib about the whole thing and rather bored of so-and-so who's related to such-and-such celeb making the news for coming out. You're gay, we're happy for you, now go away and shut the fuck up and enjoy your life and stop intruding on ours by parading your lifestyle in an attempt to ride your 15 minutes for every ounce until it coughs and sputters out of gas and you end up in rehab and get an advance to sell your life story and torture us all over again with a half-assed ghostwriter autobiography and Lifetime TV Movie.
